Saturday Santa Anita Park Recap – Jan 22
Edge to early-pressing types (3 wire jobs) on the main track. Turf course seemed to play fair (rail at 15 feet).
Victor Espinoza and Martin Pedroza both booted home a pair.
On the ticket front I tabbed three Secondary (Royal Import, Euroears, Hout Bay) winners on a difficult Saturday sequence. I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately but the Sunday card looks decent and it is time to snap out of it.

9th race from Santa Anita Park – MySpace Blog
Sunday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park includes a carryover of more than $104,000. The feature race is the $75,000 Megahertz Stakes (8th race) for fillies and mares traveling a flat mile on the turf. Morning line favorite Éclair de Lune missed a start earlier in the meet because of a lack of fitness. This flat mile event is only a starting point to her season and the 2010 Grade 1 winner does not figure to be fully cranked for this. Sunny skies are expected with a high temperature of 80.
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Sunday pick six from Santa Anita Park rates a 5.
Possible Singles: Dave’s Pacemaker (9th race)

Sunday Pick 6 Tickets
Note that the Standard Ticket shows how much it would cost if you used all of the contenders on one ticket. The multiple Primary/Secondary ticket strategy saves money and allows you to put your strong handicapping opinions to the test.

Lets hope this is the beginning of the upturn, I could sure use a share of $104k.
It ended up being a bit of a turnaround with the first five legs pegged successfully. Unfortunately, my suggested final race single Dave’s Pacemaker ran last.
