Saturday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park includes a $62,768 carryover and features three Sunshine Millions events. The Usual Q. T. is the marquee name as he shoots for his 7th straight win in the Sunshine Millions Classic. Mostly sunny skies are expected with a high temperature of 67. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.
Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.
Degree of Difficulty: Competitive. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Saturday pick six from Santa Anita rates a 7.
Possible Singles: Tight Precision (7th race), Proud Hillbilly (10th race), High Tide Rising (11th race)

The Usual Q. T. switches surfaces in Saturday's Sunshine Millions Classic. If successful, it will mark his 7th consecutive tally. (photo by Eclipse Sportswire)
Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Saturday, January 30, 2010
Santa Anita Race 6 (Sunshine Millions F&M Sprint, 6f) #1 U R All That I Am (8-1) could sit a dream ground saving trip behind multiple speed types. She has a nose for the wire and has captured her last four six furlong synthetic outings. #3 Miss McCall (9-2) seeks a four-bagger, and the speedy miss is 2 for 2 on synthetic. Earned triple digit speed rating on dirt last time and could prove too fleet for these. #4 Dotsy Jean (12-1) has never been better, and Marty Jones can do no wrong at current stand. She’s 2 for 2 here and owns running style versatility.
Santa Anita Race 7 (Sunshine Millions F&M Turf, 9T) #2 Tight Precision (7-2) shoots for the hat trick and could very well get it. Best on firm turf and owns a fine combo of positional speed and finishing kick. Rosario lands here. #7 Catsalot (12-1) is a gem of consistency, and the sharp miss is training well for this. Watch for her late.
Santa Anita Race 8 (Sunshine Millions Classic, 4up, 9f) #1 Jeranimo (6-1) looked great in clearly best tally in a local sprint last time. He faced graded foes in 2 of 3 route tries last year and was hardly disgraced finishing 3rd behind Pioneerof The Nile in the San Felipe. I’ll tab the improving sort as he stretches back out for a competent barn. #7 The Usual Q. T. (5-2) and #8 Compari (3-1) figure to take the bulk of the action, but the thinking is that the obvious contenders are better on turf, and my top will offer more value.
Santa Anita Race 9 (Alw-1x, 4up, 6.5T) #10 Hidden Blessing (8-1) is an interesting route to sprint contender for a profitable barn. Done in by above par splits in latest outing, and he’ll probably stalk the pace at this shorter trip. #2 Red Sun (8-5) exits a sharp turf route wire job win across town, and he broke maiden down the dip before that. Obvious early-pressing threat.
Santa Anita Race 10 (Str-Alw, 4up, 6f) #1 Proud Hillbilly (7-2) always fires and earned his best two speed ratings here. Ground saving tracking trip expected. #2 Bullfighter (5-2) exits romping maiden win for Baffert. 6yo makes 3rd lifetime start today, and he continues to work well. #3 Orient Emperor (6-1) has been a new horse since returning from a 5+ month hiatus. Exits above par downhill effort, and he graduated smartly on Cushion Track before that. Nice morning activity since his last.
Santa Anita Race 11 (Mcl-25k, 4up, 5.5f) #4 High Tide Rising (5-2) debuts with a string of rock solid works. Bejarano/O’Neill 38% together recently. #8 Stake A Claim (5-1) is a New Zealand transplant now under the care of Sadler. #1 Shark City (8-1) lands 20% rail post, and he showed enough in three outings to be considered in this spot. Ground saving stalking trip expected.
