$85,150 Santa Anita Pick 6 Carryover – Feb 6th

Saturday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park includes the Grade 2 Robert Lewis and Strub Stakes. American Lion looms the one to beat in the former, and Misremembered is the marquee name in the latter. There is a 70% chance of showers with a high temperature of 62. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Saturday Pick 6 from Santa Anita Park rates a 6.

Possible Singles: Misremembered (9th race), Lana’s Lovely (10th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Saturday, February 6, 2010

Santa Anita Race 5 (Wishing Well Hcp, f&m 4up, 6.5T) #8 Skedee (8-1) is now under the care of Bruce Jackson, and she uncorked a strong local bullet on Feb 1st. Loves the turf and might enjoy the downhill course. #9 Empressive Lady (9-2) tracked an above par pace in a solid show finish here last out. Fractions figure to be on the tepid side today, and the daughter of Empire Maker has finally found consistency. Big chance to find the winners’ circle under Espinoza. #7 Dance To My Tune (8-1) was training well prior to her first start for new barn (Hollendrofer), and she was competitive despite 0 for 12 turf record. She’s a 4-time synthetic winner and a stretch threat under Bejarano, especially if this race is transferred.

Santa Anita Race 6 (Clm-12.5/2L, 4up, 8.5f) #3 Figeac (5-2) drops, switches surfaces, changes barns, and stretches back out. Tyler Baze climbs aboard the early-pressing threat. #9 Boo Too (3-1) was nosed on the drop and surface switch last time. Tries a route today. #4 Outside Shot (8-1) owns tactical speed and is proven around two turns.

Santa Anita Race 7 (MSW, 3yo, 6f) #2 Screaming Destiny (8-1) hails from recently hot Harty barn, and Bejarano hops aboard. Was out for the experience in local bow, and a big forward move could be forthcoming. Working well for this. #1 Imperial Pride (3-1) was highly regarded in local bow, and he ran well for poor debut outfit. 15% 2nd timer barn (Hess) saddled two winners yesterday.

Santa Anita Race 8 (Grade 2 Robert Lewis, 3yo, 8.5f) Plenty of promise in this event. #2 Dave In Dixie (3-1) created lots of buzz following sharp Del Mar bow. He was 4-1 versus Lookin At Lucky in his 2nd career outing, and he was only beaten a couple of lengths when thrown to the wolves that day. He’s training well for return, and the $310k Keeneland sales grad will be finishing under Rosario. #6 American Lion (5-2) was part of my original Derby Top 10 post on Nov 15th, and the same can be said for my top. Talented colt should improve over a route of ground and projects a stalking trip today. #3 Tiz Chrome (2-1) has done nothing wrong in a pair of sharp sprint tallies to begin career. Bred to route and working well for this. Obvious contender for Baffert.

Santa Anita Race 9 (Grade 2 Strub, 4yo, 9f) #2 Rendezvous (8-1) got no pace help in San Fernando, and he was a solid 3rd off the shelf that day. Added real estate helps, and Bejarano sticks. #9 Misremembered (8-5) rallied for the place in the Malibu, and that 7f event was a bit sharp for the distance type. Working well and should be set for best. #1 Eagle Poise (3-1) is a Woodbine invader exiting six straight exacta finishes. Versatile sort seems best in longer events.

Santa Anita Race 10 (Mcl-32k, 3yo fil, 5.5f) #5 Lana’s Lovely (3-1) earned above par speed rating in a local 6.5f event last time. Barn a profitable 17% blinkers on, and nothing wrong with Rosario hopping aboard. She’s single material on both tickets.
