Del Mar Closing Day Pick 6 – Sept 8

Monday (9-6-10) Del Mar Recap

No wire jobs as patient runners fared best on synthetic and turf.

Hat trick for Rafael Bejarano. Martin Pedroza and Joel Rosario both booted home a pair.

On the ticket front I tabbed three Primary (Joe Carl, Bench Points, Russian River) winners.

Del Mar Pick 6 – Sept 8

Wednesday’s closing day pick six from Del Mar has a mandatory payout and features the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity for 2-year-olds traveling seven furlongs on Polytrack. Morning line favorite J P’s Gusto had everything his own way in the Best Pal but might not get that luxury in this slightly longer event. Keep an eye on Western Mood. He was forced to chase in the Best Pal and he’s clearly most effective as a late-runner. That’s it for the 2010 Del Mar meet. I’ll have an abbreviated schedule covering carryovers, etc. during the Fairplex meet. Check back for opening day pick six coverage from the Belmont Park fall meet Sept 11. Thanks for visiting pick6blog.com.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Wednesday pick six from Del Mar rates a 6.

Possible Singles: Western Mood (8th race), Marino’s Star (10th race)
