Jarrod Horak’s Del Mar Pick 6 analysis – Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Del Mar Race 4 (MSW, f&m 3up, 8f) #7 Freedom Star (9-2) finished an even 4th when last seen in a Hollywood sprint. $220k Keeneland sales grad is bred to route, and Gomez/Baffert 4-for-5 together recently. #4 Cherryblossommiss (8-5) earned best last race speed rating in local course/distance place finish. Sports a local bullet since, and hustling apprentice is 4-for-10 with Sadler. #8 Rising Honour (3-1) finished 3rd in same race Cherryblossommiss exits, and Harty is 24% 2nd off the shelf.

Del Mar Race 5 (Clm-12.5/2L, f&m 3up, 6f) #1 Flash The Silver (9-2) is unknown on synthetic, but barn is 30% 2nd off the shelf and 23% with layoff runners, and she does not meet much in 1st start since May. #8 Wada Falls (4-1) was in contention for six furlongs before fading in latest local route start off the shelf. Broke maiden at this distance, and Mullins is 23% route/sprint. #6 Kami D B C (7-2) earned best last race speed rating in turf sprint show finish, and she was part of exacta in a pair of synthetic sprints before that.

Del Mar Race 6 (Mcl-100k, 2yo, 6f) $110k Keeneland sales grad #1 Harlan’s Tune (4-1) exits productive Delaware bow and has reportedly been working well at Del Mar. #10 Summers At Delmar (7-2) was necked versus similar local foes last time, and show finisher came back to score as my top last week. #5 Bustanai (8-1) is out of a win early barn, and Rosario/Mitchell are 3-for-8 together recently.

Del Mar Race 7 (Clm-12.5/2L, 3up, 8f) #4 Just Heat (2-1) returned to Sadler barn and promptly graduated off a layoff. Gelded son of Unusual Heat could easily make it two straight. Barn 21% with recent graduates trying winners for 1st time. #10 Bling Star Dreams (5-1) graduated here 2nd time out on Aug 5th, and barn is 22% with recent diploma earners tackling winners for the initial time. Santiago Reyes abandons.

Del Mar Race 8 (Green Flash Hcp, 3up, 5T) #5 Get Funky (10-1) won this race last year and earned triple digit speed rating (blinkers on) in solid 4th place finish behind Colonel John in the flat mile Wickerr last time. Strong bullet since last. Value play. #2 California Flag (2-1) won half of his turf starts and is capable of firing a fresh shot. Sports a local bullet and looms the one to catch. Fleet gelding has single possibilities.

Del Mar Race 9 (Mcl-32k, 2yo, 6f) #10 Amore Di Aleyna (8-1) drops to lowest level and sports a local bullet for this. Removes the hood and retains hustling apprentice. #3 At The Front (5-2) finished even 3rd in Hollywood bow. Has top connections in his corner and can improve. #8 Zee’s Echo (3-1) dons the hood and drops into a maiden claimer for the first time. #1 Bartok’s Bonus (5-1) needs an alert beginning this time around. Did improve on the drop 2nd time out.

I see the historical payoffs … but I don’t see your results.
