Del Mar Pick 6 – August 22
Saturday (8-21-10) Del Mar Recap
Polytrack played fair. Turf favored stalkers and closers.
Rafael Bejarano and Victor Espinoza both pulled off the hat trick. Patrick Valenzuela booted home a pair.
Gem of consistency Evening Jewel made it three straight Graded turf Stakes wins with a 1/2 length victory over Harmonious in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks. Her tactical speed always puts her in a winning position and once again made all the difference along with ground saved.
On the ticket front I tabbed three Primary (Indian Winter, Saint Isabelle, Evening Jewel) and two Secondary (Charm The Crowd, Rising Honour) winners.

I enjoy reading your blog. I wonder, though, how much you would’ve spent in toto (theoretically) on pick 6 wagers? I can’t imagine it would be enough to even break even if you were to eventually win.

Thanks for the comment Jman. This blog is to help people understand how to play the pick 6 using strong opinions and smart ticket structures. Actually, I have given out multiple winning pick six tickets on this site including one at Del Mar last year for more than $50k.
Every day is a new puzzle. Sometimes I play the pick six and sometimes I take a pass. Sometimes I bet more and sometimes I bet less. It depends on the degree of difficulty, late scratches, strength of opinion, etc.
