Jarrod Horak’s Del Mar Pick 6 analysis – Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Del Mar Race 4 (Mcl-25k, f&m 3up, 8f) #9 Latego Light (7-2) matched winning par for this when last seen in Hollywood extended sprint. Landed show in both flat mile starts. Jockey-trainer 3-for-7 together. #1 Eleventh Hour (4-1) should have won two back, and her last here was too bad to believe. Rebound candidate under hustling apprentice. #4 Swingin Storm (6-1) owns ascending late pace figs and might enjoy two turns.

Del Mar Race 5 (Clm-20k, f&m 4up, 8f) #9 Mikey Bones (4-1) was nabbed out of her last by Spawr, who is a profitable 19% 1st off the claim. Won two straight in May/June before disappointing in July 4th turfer. Came up empty versus local $25k foes last time and is capable of better. #2 Sheza Maneater (3-1) is the one to catch, and Gary Stute is 23% 2nd off the claim. #3 Rocket Kitty (7-2) drops, switches surfaces, and stretches back out for 24% Rosario/Hollendorfer team.

Del Mar Race 6 (Mcl-40k, CA-bred 2yo fil, 6f) #7 Dinnr With Nikki C (4-1) earned improved pace figs in solid showing off a layoff here last out. One to catch under hustling apprentice. #5 Victory Dash (7-2) drops after even local bow, and barn shows a profit with 2nd timers. #6 Royally Large (9-2) was even 4th in local bow, and Mullins is 19% with 2nd timers. Leading rider hops aboard. #8 Salty Fries (6-1) hails from the always dangerous Terry Knight barn.

Del Mar Race 7 (Clm-12.5/2L, 3up, 6.5f) #8 Legend Of My Own (3-1) earned above par speed rating in local extended sprint maiden breaker on Aug 9th. Similar effort could net a victory in 1st start versus winners. #12 Baroda Court (2-1) drops and cuts back to preferred sprint off the claim.

Wickerr runner-up Becrux

Wickerr runner-up Becrux

Del Mar Race 8 (Harry F Brubaker, 3up, 8.5T) #6 Tiz West (7-2) chased fast pace in Wickerr last time. Moderate pace expected today, and he hails from the recently hot Mandella barn. Prominent throughout threat. #4 Tiago (5-2) figures to need this race, and he has bigger fish to fry later this fall. Sire 5% 1st grass, and dam has tossed a pair of turf winners. Barn 10% first grass. Local turf bullet. #7 Prussian (20-1) was done in by hot Wickerr pace. Can go better today. #3 Becrux (3-1) rallied for place in Wickerr and has been part of exacta in 5 of 7 local turf starts.

Del Mar Race 9 (Mcl-25k, 3up, 6.5f) #5 Megillah (7-2) landed show in both synthetic sprints, including last off a layoff here. Extra 1/2 furlong helps. #9 Stayonit (5-2) is out of the MSW ranks, and Mullins is 34% with this type of dropper.
