Sunday (8-29-10) Del Mar Recap
Polytrack played fair. Patient runners won both turf races.
Four-bagger for Corey Nakatani included a pair for trainer Mike Puype. Mike Smith booted home a pair.
Champ Pegasus burst through the pack to smartly take the 71st running of the Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap for marathon turfers. There was not much behind him so he’ll need to keep improving to beat future rivals.
On the ticket front I tabbed three Primary (Imco Spirit, Delahoosee, Champ Pegasus) and two Secondary (Scofield Barracks, Morganouska) winners. I was necked in the race I missed.

Wednesday’s pick six from Del Mar includes the $100,000 Generous Portion Stakes for state bred or sired 2-year-old fillies traveling six furlongs on Polytrack. Tepid 7-2 morning line favorite Perfect Curls has won three straight in NoCal and attracts Bejarano. Her synthetic numbers are better and an outer tactical trip seems likely.
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Wednesday pick six from Del Mar rates a 5.
Possible Singles: Three Pointer (8th race)
