Del Mar Update: September 2nd
Stalk and pounce chalk winner to begin the new month. Lullaybtime ($5.20) got the victory for Bejarano/Mitchell, and O’Neill claimed the popular winner.
The 2nd race was a turf sprint, and Annihilation ($8.80) rallied for the score. Espinoza rode the winner for Dan Hendricks.
Camisado ($26.40) was the stalking upsetter in the 3rd under Martin Garcia.
Pick 6 began in the 4th, and I ran 1-2-3 with Unbridled Papillon ($8) along by a head over The Whammer. Launch A Bull was another 1/2 length back in 3rd. Riding double for Victor Espinoza.
I am 2-for-2 after Wada Falls ($11.80) went coast-to-coast in the 5th.
Update (6:50PM CT): Getting a bit exciting as the Big Ticket stands at 3-for-3 after a wire job in the 6th by recent Sadler claim Ranger Heartley ($13.40). Nice aggressive ride by Talamo. Hopes ride with Pick 6 single Adam Suances in the 7th. He is 9-2 with 12 minutes to post.
Update (7:11PM CT): Adam Suances never lifted a hoof in a race easily captured by even money fav The Usual Q. T.
10:13PM CT: My top Camille C ($12.20) went wire-to-wire, and I nailed my suggested win bet and quinella on Horse Racing Nation. Alive to five with a trio in the finale.
No dice in the finale with a show finish (Hotsie). Andrew’s Courage ($36) got up by a nose. Pick 6 paid $729,292.20. Conso came back $1878.60. For the record, I had four…close but no cigar!
