Fairplex Park Pick 6 – Sept 27th

The Sunday (Day 14) Pick 6 from Fairplex Park features the $50k Ralph M Hinds Invitational Handicap. Generalito Nain has scratched, and that leaves a field of nine to contest the mile and an eighth event.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Sunday Pick 6 from Fairplex rates a 6.

Possible Singles: Chief’s Lake (7th race), Show the Flag (8th race), Oscar the Mayor (10th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Fairplex Pick 6 analysis – Sunday, September 27, 2009

Fairplex Race 7 (Clm-5k, 3up, 6.5f) #4 Chief’s Lake (1-1) switches to Pedroza, who is 28% with West here. Expect aggressive handing today. #6 Scott’s Spirit (3-1) finished a respectable 3rd here last out. For exotic players, take a look at #1 Tommyland (30-1). He was a wide 4th in a local route last time. Turns back to a sprint and lands cozy rail. Handles this tricky oval and can hit the board at a price.

Fairplex Race 8 (Mcl-32k, 2yo, 6f) #8 Show The Flag (3-1) finished a troubled 3rd in local bow. Pedroza hops aboard live 2nd timer. #7 Mikeswayorthehiway (9-2) is a Mitchell firster, and he’s a profitable 26% with debut maiden claimers. #3 Smokin Bomb (8-1) finished less than two lengths in front of my top last time. Valdez hops aboard, and he’s riding well here.

Fairplex Race 9 (Clm-10k, 3yo fil, 6.5f) #9 Upper Manhattan (7-2) missed by a 1/2 length when last seen at Del Mar. Santiago Reyes had numerous options in this event and ended up on my top. #7 Elegant Miss (5-2) drops and sports a bullet 2nd off the shelf. Figures to show speed under Gryder.

Fairplex Race 10 (Clm-10/2L, 3up, 6f) #8 Oscar The Mayor (2-1) drops and goes turf to dirt, and Pedroza figures to have this one in the hunt throughout. #6 Izemine (10-1) drops after wide trip from post 10 in Del mar route. #7 Royal Vision (8-1) drops, turns back, and reunites with Santiago Reyes.

Fairplex Race 11 (Hinds Inv. Hcp, 3up, 9f) #8 Cigar Man (9-2) earned quality speed rating in sharp optional claiming tally at Del Mar on Aug 30th. Has won twice on dirt and will be finishing for 29% Quinonez/Cerin team. #1 Acclamation (9-2) finished a close-up 3rd in the Del Mar Derby (G2) last time, and he wins this if able to transfer that strong effort to the main.

Fairplex Race 12 (Mcl-25k, 3up, 7f) #4 Blaze of Eminence (5-1) landed show here last out, and place finisher Bubsy came back to score here earlier this week. #8 Stayonit (3-1) attracts Pedroza and is probably the one to catch. #1 Lemonbird (4-1) finished 3rd at this course/distance last time.
