Fairplex Park Recap: Sept 28th

The ’09 Fairplex Park meet has come to an end. Enjoyed dabbling in the bullring races. Ended up with a pair of consos, and now we turn our attention to Oak Tree @ Santa Anita. My opening day Pick 6 analysis from Santa Anita will be posted the evening of Sept 29th, but before that, let’s recap the final Fairplex card…

Eddie The Hat ($5) got up in late stretch for Matt Garcia and Gary Stute. Nice to see Matt win a few races at the fair.

Pick 9 started in the 2nd, and Thunderfrmdownundr ($5.80) got the festivities off to a formful beginning. Quinonez was the rider for Kristin Mulhall.

Apache Annie ($17.60) went last to first under Martin Garcia in the 3rd. She was my top choice, and that’s 2 for 2 on my Thoroughbred Fever Pick 9 ticket.

It was fun while it lasted. Missed the 4th as Princess Susan M came from last under Santiago Reyes.

Bummer of a start in the Pick 6. I ran 2-3 behind wire job winner Romeo Plus ($19.40).

Another place finish…one of those days! My Man Sumo ($18.20) kept on finding for Valdez/Mullins.

Back on track with Amore Di Aleyna ($3.60). Riding double for Santiago Reyes.

My Big Ticket single Lion Princess scratched, and that threw this race wide open. Joy Scott found the winners’ circle aboard Gift To Bob ($8.80).

Went five deep in the 9th, and I struck paydirt with wire job winner Justdontcallmejeri ($16.20).

Pedroza ends the meet with wire job tally aboard Sise firster Romance Writer ($7.40). Ended with a 3 out of 6 showing, and got four home in the Pick 9.

Final Pick 6 paid $4,503 for correctly tabbing five winners. In the Pick 9, seven correct brought back $51,528.80, and a conso for six paid $570.70.

Bring on Oak Tree!
