Hollywood Park Pick 6 – Dec 20th

Sunday’s closing day pick six from Hollywood Park includes the Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet. Blind Luck is the 2-1 fav, but will her patient style be as effective over Cushion Track? Same goes for Beautician. The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 60’s. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Sunday pick six from Hollywood rates a 6.

Possible Singles: My Gal Candy (6th race), Saint Paul (7th race), Rose Catherine (9th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Hollywood Park Pick 6 analysis – Sunday, December 20, 2009

Hollywood Race 5 (OC-25/1x, CA-bred f&m 3up, 6T) #5 Warren’s R Ready (5-1) reunites with Bejarano and is a threat off her Nov 8th downhill effort. Versatile running style. #4 A Jealous Woman (4-1) overcame a slow start to break maiden off the shelf at this course/distance last time. Spawr a profitable 16% with recent graduates trying winners for the 1st time. #8 Princess Suances (5-2) turns back and must overcome outside post for Rosario/Vienna.

Hollywood Race 6 (Clm-25k, 2yo fil, 6f) #8 My Gal Candy (3-1) is back in for a tag 2nd off the shelf, and she’s a prominent throughout threat. Place finisher from last came back to score. #4 Bye Bye Hollywood (2-1) has been part of exacta in all 5 synthetic starts. #9 Hayley’s Halo (6-1) has every right to move forward for profitable 16% 2nd off the shelf barn.

Hollywood Race 7 (OC-40/1x, 3up, 8.5f) #7 Never (4-1) was a sharp maiden winner on Oct 29th, and place finisher came back to score. Hails from hot outfit (Gomez/Baffert). Better at Santa Anita? #4 Saint Paul (5-2) exits a romping local wire job, and he’s the target.

Hollywood Race 8 (Alw-1x, f&m 3up, 6T) #8 Bombina (6-1) was unsettled and raced wide in a local turf route last time. Cuts back and gets in light 3rd off the shelf. #1 Unzip Me (3-1) lands cozy rail 2nd off the shelf. Ground saving stalking trip likely. #2 Pink Diamond (12-1) never got involved as the fav last time. Fired prominent throughout shots in other two turf sprint starts and sports a 3f bullet for this.

Hollywood Race 9 (Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet, 2yo fil, 8.5f) #6 Rose Catherine (6-1) earned quality speed ratings in last two turf starts. $410k purchase is a likely winner if she handles synthetic, and her early style fits this course. Pletcher 28% 3rd off the shelf. #4 Amen Hallelujah (4-1) enjoys synthetic ground and owns fine tactical speed. Place finisher from last came back to win BC Juvenile Fillies. Stamina is the question.

Hollywood Race 10 (Clm-8k, 3up, 5.5f) #8 Acquire The Fire (7-2) is winless in seven tries this year. He landed the place in 2 of last 3 versus better and drops into a winning spot for solid connections. #12 Smoke Cat (5-2) exits above par local win versus similar. Obvious repeat threat for Garcia/Mitchell.
