Jarrod Horak’s Hollywood Park Pick 6 analysis – Saturday, December 5, 2009
Hollywood Race 4 (Mcl-25k, 3up, 6f) #12 Smokenomore (7-2) exits local runner-up effort, and winner came back to score again. His early zip should serve him well. #6 Ben’s Bullet (6-1) matched winning par for this when last seen here in May. #8 Smokey Beau (5-1) moved forward over a route of ground when last seen in March. Cuts back off the shelf for Rosario/Sadler. #15 Five A Day (15-1) earned decent speed rating in improved local effort last time. #14 Bullfighter (8-1) is a $160k sales grad debuting for 26% Garcia/Baffert team. He’s a 5yo gelding.
Hollywood Race 5 (Clm-12.5k, 3yo, 7.5f) #2 Brave Justice (3-1) enjoyed a return to synthetic ground last time. Pair of solid drills since. #3 Megillah (9-5) switches surfaces and is out of the starter allowance ranks. Reunites with winning pilot for 26% sprint-route-sprint barn. #4 Outside Shot (5-1) earned diploma (wire job) at 8.5f last time. Barn enjoying fine meet, and Spawr is also a profitable 16% with recent graduates trying winners for the first time.
Hollywood Race 6 (MSW, CA-bred 2yo, 6f) #1a A Plus Topper (7-2) sports a strong 6f bullet for this, and barn capable with firsters. #2 Sabino Storm (6-1) ran well in turf Paradise bow, and new trainer is 25% dirt to synthetic. #5 Alphie’s Bet (5-1) took action in local bow, and he showed late interest after breaking slow from intimidating inside post.
Hollywood Race 7 (Clm-40k, 3up, 8T) #8 Laddies Poker (6-1) is capable of firing a fresh shot, and he ran well in lone tagged outing. #5 Cavanal (5-2) just missed versus $50k foes off the shelf last time. He drops another notch and comes in with a layoff line again.
Hollywood Race 8 (Grade 2 Bayakoa Hcp, f&m 3up, 8.5f) #6 Floating Heart (12-1) is on the upswing for Pletcher, and a stalk and pounce trip is expected. #4 Cat By The Tale (8-1) fits off his recent turf form, and Rosario hops aboard 3rd off the shelf. This is my Horse Racing Nation pick of the day, and you can view my analysis here.
Hollywood Race 9 (Clm-12.5/2L, 3up, 6f) #4 Veridicus (6-1) invades from Canada for Cerin. He fits on numbers and drops to lowest level. #7 Spinning Sound (4-1) sprung to life on the cut back at Del Mar last time. Stretch threat under Bejarano.

Just for fun. Bill Spawr won the 4th race, three days in a row. All with the same sire, Northern Afleet.
Thanks for the interesting Bill Spawr fact. That is an angle nobody else knows about!
