Hollywood Park Pick 6 – Nov 13th
Friday’s (Day 1) opening night card from Hollywood Park features a pair of turf races. Nice to see night racing return to SoCal, and speed is typically strong under the lights.
Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.
Degree of Difficulty: Competitive. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Friday Pick 6 from Hollywood rates a 7.
Possible Singles: Auntgrace (4th race), Flashover (5th race), Orientation Hall (6th race)
Jarrod Horak’s Hollywood Park Pick 6 analysis – Friday, November 13, 2009
Hollywood Race 3 (Str-Alw, f&m 3up, 8.5f) #3 Platinum Stiletto (6-1) was clearly 2nd best at Oak Tree last time, and note that she broke maiden at this course and distance. #5 Living Our Dream (3-1) also ran well in latest start across town, and she scored at 7.5f in her lone local outing. #7 Stevie’s Afleet (5-2) scored off the Sadler claim last time, and she’s stabled here.
Hollywood Race 4 (Clm-12.5/2L, f&m 3up, 6.5f) #9 Auntgrace (8-5) has improved since Mullins took over the training duties in July. Prominent throughout from outside box. #3 Lovely Lolly (6-1) broke maiden here and seems to be rounding back into form for competent barn.
Hollywood Race 5 (Alw-3x, f&m 3up, 8T) #2 Flashover (7-2) enters in decent form for Abrams, and she ran okay chasing fast splits in a pair of Del Mar turf routes. #1 Firey Red (5-2) invades from Ireland for Dermot Weld, and Gomez takes the call.
Hollywood Race 6 (Clm-8k, 3up, 7.5f) #5 Orientation Hall (7-2) flattened out at 8.5f last time. Handles this oval and should enjoy unusual distance. #7 Rathor (5-2) ran out of ground in 6f comeback. This distance suits, and barn is 21% 2nd off the shelf. #9 Morton Owen (6-1) cannot stay a route of ground, so this shorter trip helps.
Hollywood Race 7 (OC-62.5/2x, 3up, 6T) Local turf sprints typically favor inside speed types. #1 Lt. Hopeful (6-1) could not quite last down the dip from post 10. He might forget to stop in this spot. #5 Wiredfortwotwenty (5-2) is also a speed threat, and #7 Rob Bob and Dave (6-1) fired in both local outings at this distance.
Hollywood Race 8 (Mcl-25k, 3up, 7f) #8 Father Grumpy (5-1) has trouble 2nd time out after flashing ability in bow. Another chance. #5 Remember Mike (3-1) ran 2nd on the drop last time, and winner came back to score. #2 Big Jay (4-1) ran well in an Oak Tree extended sprint last time. #7 Feeling Fabulous (5-2) drops to lowest level for Ron Ellis.
