Hollywood Park Pick 6 – Nov 21st

Saturday’s (Day 7) program from Hollywood Park includes the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue, which is shaping up as a battle between a pair of Baffert runners (Indian Firewater, Macias), and promising WinStar colt American Lion.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Saturday Pick 6 from Hollywood rates a 6.5.

Possible Singles: Squallcreek (7th race), Indian Firewater (8th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Hollywood Park Pick 6 analysis – Saturday, November 21, 2009

Hollywood Race 4 (Str-Alw, f&m 3up, 6f) #5 A Clever Ten (7-2) is now under the care of Hollendorfer, and he’s 31% with new additions to his barn. Rosario strings along. #8 Kimmyv (3-1) was a sharp debut winner across town for Baffert. #7 You Can Dream (9-2) was nabbed out of her last by O’Neill, and he’s 20% 1st off the claim.

Hollywood Race 5 (MSW, 2yo, 6T) #6 Mr Tokyo (15-1) is out of 29% 1st turf sire Freespool, and Gomez rides for low profile barn. Interesting firster. #5 Do What U Dare (5-2) is a $125k sales purchase out of 15% debut turf sire Kitten’s Joy. Hollendorfer 23% with 1st timers, and Rosario takes the call. #9 Oceanographer (2-1) set swift pace in fast maiden race at Del Mar last time. Profitable barn off to nice start here, and he’s bred well enough for turf. #7 Hennessy God (8-1) owns a solid grass pedigree, and capable barn is 2 for 4 1st turf.

Hollywood Race 6 (Clm-10k, 3up, 6f) #7 Public Image (9-2) owns the speed to run these off their feet. Might be rounding back to sharp summer form. #8 Scottish Diamond (9-5) earned above par fig versus $12.5k foes last time. Stalking trip likely.

Hollywood Race 7 (Clm-50k, 3up, 8.5T) #3 Squallcreek (7-2) returns from a lengthy vacation and is not for sale. Barn clicking and Gomez here. I’m gonna take a stand and single this one on both tickets.

Hollywood Race 8 (Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue, 2yo, 7f) #3 Indian Firewater (5-2) was a fast maiden winner at Del Mar, and he was a wide 2nd at Oak Tree last time. Working fast here. #4 American Lion (7-5) looked good in Keeneland maiden win, and place finisher came back to score. He could be the goods.

Hollywood Race 9 (Mcl-32k, 2yo fil, 6f) #8 Bonnie Brown Eyes (8-1) hails from a 38% 2nd timer outfit, and Gomez hops aboard. Improvement expected. #4 Duck River (7-2) removes the hood for 22% layoff barn, and Garcia/Baffert are 4 for 8 together recently. #3 Extra Energy (5-2) drops to lowest level 2nd off the shelf. #11 Jocata (6-1) is out of 27% debut sire Wildcat Heir. #2 Taste of Joy (12-1) is an above average sales purchase for O’Neill, and she gets in light with hustling apprentice.
