Hollywood Park Pick 6 – Nov 22nd

Sunday’s (8th Day) pick six from Hollywood Park includes three turf races. The feature is the $100k Moccasin for 2yo fillies traveling seven furlongs on Cushion Track. The marquee name is Bickersons, who was 3rd in the Grade 1 Oak Leaf and 10th in the BC Juvenile Fillies. Minor stakes winner Crisis of Spirit is probably the one to catch.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Sunday Pick 6 from Hollywood rates a 6.

Possible Singles: Rocket Kitty (4th race), Cleisthenes (5th race), Bombina (7th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Hollywood Park Pick 6 analysis – Sunday, November 22, 2009

Hollywood Race 4 (Clm-12.5k, f&m 3up, 8.5f) #3 Rocket Kitty (3-1) drops but remains above her claimed level. Could sit right stalking trip. #1 Dances With Tigers (7-2) likes earning minor awards at this course and distance. Baze/Mullins teamed up for a win on yesterday’s card. #7 Recess (5-2) drops and enters in fine form.

Hollywood Race 5 (Alw-1x, 3up, 6T) #3 Cleisthenes (5-2) is on the improve for Sadler, and Mike Smith booted home a pair of turf sprint winners yesterday. #4 Mobilized (3-1) was less than a length behind my top last time, and he’ll be finishing again.

Hollywood Race 6 (Clm-16k, 3up, 7f) #3 Stand Tall (5-2) confidently scurries up the ladder following sharp $10k extended sprint win at Oak Tree. 2-time local winner. #2 Luhuk’s Dancer (4-1) returns to SoCal and is back in the O’Neill barn. Won at this course/distance in May. Both wins this year under today’s pilot Rosario. #4 Screen To Screen (3-1) finished 2nd to a next out winner at the $20k level last time, and Baffert is 30% 2nd off the shelf. Pace player at speed friendly distance.

Hollywood Race 7 (Alw-1x, f&m 3up, 8T) #7 Bombina (4-1) had a rough journey as my top in her US bow on Oct 28th. Walsh is 26% 2nd off the shelf, and I’ll give her another chance. #8 Haka (9-5) is out of the 3yo stakes ranks for 27% 3rd off the shelf barn. Better on synthetic? #2 Malibu Win (12-1) attracts profitable 25% speed jock Mike Smith and might get brave if able to sneak away early.

Hollywood Race 8 (Moccasin, 2yo fil, 7f) #4 Bickersons (4-1) sports the look of a sprinter. She handled synthetic in Oak Leaf before faltering in BC Juvenile Fillies. Has right combo of speed and stamina to excel at seven panels. I love outside early-pressing speed in extended sprints, and #6 Crisis of Spirit (5-2) fits that bill.

Hollywood Race 9 (MSW, f&m 3up, 6T) #8 Calle Vista (5-1) hails from recently hot Mandella barn, and dam has tossed six grass winners. Bred to route. #4 A Jealous Woman (3-1) ran well in key race synthetic bow and might not look back if she handles grass. Barn 4% 1st turf (44% in the money). #3 Susan’s Wildcat (5-2) is a $300k underachiever. Bejarano/Sadler 41% together, and she should sit nice stalking trip.

I can’t see how you can expect people to pay for your picks. Anyone could do as well. How did you do in the Breeders cup. I got a superfecta on day one. A ten combination bet. Didn’t play day two.

I don’t mean to be harsh, but two correct on a $324 ticket isn’t two good. I will say Bickerson was a good pick and it sounds like you kind of wanted to single it.
