Hollywood Park Recap – Nov 13-14

Nov 13th Recap

Opening night got off to a chalky beginning with Magic Texan ($5.20) going coast to coast for Russell/Miyadi.

Garrett Gomez brought home the chalk early double aboard Tee Off ($3.60). Bob Baffert saddled the winner.

Pick 6 got off to a formful start with Stevie’s Afleet ($4.20) running down Living Our Dream in the 3rd.

Knocked out early as Monica C C ($16.40) cruised from off the pace under Delgadillo. Sal Gonzalez was the winning conditioner.

Top pick Flashover ($6.40) got the job done in the grassy 5th for Talamo/Abrams.

I was on the far end of a three-horse photo in the 6th. Midwesterner ($34.80) went all the way for Martin Garcia/Steve Knapp.

Top choice Lt. Hopeful kicked clear in the lane but was run down late by Shadow of Illinois ($8.60) and Cadillac. Alex Solis rode the winner for Anthony Saavedra.

Horse Racing Nation play of the day Father Grumpy ($11.20) scored in the finale for Bejarano/Gutierrez.

Ended up with 3 wins and 3 show finishes on opening night.

Nov 14th Recap

2-1 fav Saint Paul (Solis-Puype) made all the running in the Saturday opener.

Fire Break ($7.20) caught pacesetter Canyon Drive in the grassy 2nd. Rosario rode the winner for trainer Marcelo Polanco.

Back-to-back winners for Rosario as he booted home Sadler firster Twirling Candy ($7.20) in the 3rd.

Went four deep in the opening leg of the pick six, but the best I could muster was 3rd. Cut The Check ($14.20) was the prominent throughout winner under Santiago Reyes. Walther Solis was the winning conditioner.

No dice on my suggested tickets after first timer Foxy Jade ($29.60) nabbed the 5th for Talamo/Puype.

Ran 2-3 behind stalk and pounce winner Caracortado ($16.20) in the 6th. Paul Atkinson booted home the Mike Machowsky runner.

Finally found the winners’ circle as I ran 1-2 with chalky Monolingual ($4) wearing down 3-1 Korban. Bejarano guided the Sadler trainee.

Another 2-3 finish as my 7-1 value top Enriched could not hold off Bestdressed ($12.60). Hat trick for Rosario and Sadler.

Ended on a high note as Itssultryinthecape ($5.80) never looked back under Solis. Peter Eurton was the winning conditioner.

Got two winners home, and note that my three suggested singles all landed the place. One of those days!
