Hollywood Park Today – July 16
- Updated: July 15, 2010
Thursday (7-15-10) Hollywood Park Recap
Early-pressing types best in a trio of Cushion Track sprints. Patient runners nabbed both 8.5f synthetic routes. Early-pressing types captured all three turf races carded.
Four bagger for Joel Rosario. Rafael Bejarano booted home a pair on the turf. Bob Baffert and Jack Carava both saddled two winners on the day.
I just missed the pick six again on Thursday. On Sunday, I missed the first leg by a nose and nailed the remaining five legs. It was deja vu all over again on Thursday. Once again, I missed the opening leg and proceeded to rattle off five straight. Guess I am getting warmed up for Del Mar!
Nice debut win by Bernardini 2yo filly A Z Warrior. The Zayat/Baffert runner turned back Indian Gracey and completed her five and one-half furlong journey in 1:04.14.
Friday (7-16-10) Hollywood Park Preview
An 8-race card is on tap for Friday night and the pick six includes three grass races. Mostly sunny skies are expected with a high temperature of 79. I have included analysis of the 6th race below, and note that I will be posting free analysis of the July 17 Delaware Handicap day card from Delaware Park right here on the blog.
HOL 6 (Str-Alw, f&m 3up, 8T) #5 Sheeza Beast (5-2) owns an ascending Final Time Rating pattern and just missed when switched to the weeds last time. Mitchell is an impressive 33% with second grass starters and barn $$ rider Tyler Baze sticks with the 3rd off the shelf threat. #2 Westwood Pride (8-5) has fired big shots in all three turf tries and finished a head in front of my top last time. The Plays: #5 to win, Exacta 5-2
