Hollywood Recap – Nov 20-21

Lordgivemealift ($3) was the wire job winner of the Friday night opener. Mike Smith booted home the Bob Hess Jr. trainee.

Off the pace upset in the 2nd as Go See Cecie ($23.80) got the job done for Valdez/Sal Gonzalez.

Pick 6 time, and no problems in the opening leg as my contenders ran 1-2, with Reba Is Tops ($4.80) prevailing over 6-1 Annihilation. Talamo booted home the winner for Mark Glatt.

Stalk and pounce winner Bewitched Again ($5.20). I’m 2 for 2 on the Big Ticket. Espinoza rode the winner for Richard Mandella.

Necked in the 5th as Dislitleliteomine ($97.40) lit up the tote for Valdivia/Periban.

Still alive for five after Camisado ($12) was the stalking winner of the 6th under Quinonez. Ed Moger Jr. was the winning conditioner.

Tough beat in the 7th as my top two ran 2-3 behind 1/2 length winner Precious Union ($12.40).  2nd win in the sequence for Victor Espinoza and Richard Mandella.

Boo Too ($7.20) lasted by a nose in the finale under Santiago Reyes. Another win for trainer Jorge Periban.

Nov 21st Recap

Sharp turf sprint wire job in the Saturday opener. Lucks Mine ($9.40) was the prompt winner for Mike Smith and Clifford Sise Jr.

That Ol’blackmagic ($5.20) was along for the popular route score in the 2nd under Rosario. Mike Mitchell was the winning trainer.

Back on the grass for the 3rd, and Step Softly ($11.40) prevailed under Joe Talamo. Ben Cecil saddled the winner.

Finished 2-3 in the opening leg of the pick six. Classy Attraction ($25) shook loose and kept on going under Valdez. Silverio Martinez was the winning trainer.

Four deep was not enough in the 5th as Camp Victory ($12.60) racked up another turf sprint wire job for Mike Smith. Carla Gaines saddled the winner.

Scottish Diamond ($3.80) righted the chalk ship as he just did best his stablemate Steady Demand. Michael Baze booted home the Jeff Mullins trainee.

My single Squallcreek was an even 4th in his comeback. Knockout Artist ($9.60) kicked away under Flores, and Art Sherman was the winning trainer.

28th running of the Hollywood Prevue went to American Lion ($3.40). He looked beat turning for home, and his win was not flashy, but he dug in gamely and passed his first graded test. It is on to bigger and better things, and the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity on Dec 19th might be next on his dance card.

Tragic end to the card as my top Bonnie Brown Eyes (Mike Mitchell) had the stretch lead and broke down, throwing Garrett Gomez to the ground. Gomez was taken to the hospital for x-rays. First timer Jocata ($11.80) scored under Quinonez. Peter Miller saddled the daughter of Wildcat Heir.

Ended up with 3 of 6 on Saturday.
