Santa Anita Pick 6 – Feb 24th
Wednesday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park includes a pair of downhill sprints. The feature race is an allowance synthetic sprint for fillies and mares, and returning graded winner Alpha Kitten is the 9-5 morning line fav. There is a 40% chance of PM showers with a high temperature of 65. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.
Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Wednesday pick six from Santa Anita rates a 5.
Possible Singles: Underground (4th race), Silent Stalk (5th race)
Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Santa Anita Race 3 (MSW, f&m 4up, 6.5T) #8 Ruination (8-1) is out of a 30% debut turf outfit, and she’s bred to handle the footing as well. Espinoza hops aboard the Vienna firster. #9 Broken Silence (3-1) is now under the care of Hollendorfer, and he’s 31% with new additions. Dam has tossed a turf winner. #7 Sabina Fay (8-1) switches surfaces off the shelf for Zenyatta’s connections. Dam has thrown a turf winner.
Santa Anita Race 4 (OC-32/1x, f&m 4up, 6.5f) #2 Underground (4-5) dueled and held the place versus similar course/distance foes on Jan 31st. She looms the controlling speed 3rd off the shelf, and she’s single material on both tickets.
Santa Anita Race 5 (Clm-10k, 4yo fil, 6f) #7 Silent Stalk (9-5) drops off the shelf and sports a local bullet. Canani 67% with this type of dropper, and he’s enjoying a fine meet as well. #2 Ultra Awesome (5-2) exits solid local tally, and place finisher returned to score. She has won 4 of last 6, and Bejarano strings along.
Santa Anita Race 6 (Alw-1x, 4up, 6.5T) #2 Wolgan Valley (4-1) broke last from hedge and raced evenly in a much needed downhill effort last time. Almost has to move forward 2nd time back. #7 Hidden Blessing (6-1) split the field from outside post in same race my top exits. Rosario hops aboard. #8 Luckiest Man (5-2) dons the hood off the shelf for new barn, and Bejarano hops aboard.
Santa Anita Race 7 (Alw-2x, f&m 4up, 6.5f) #3 Via Veneto (6-1) appears best tracking a slow pace, and that scenario should present itself today. Reunites with winning pilot Gomez. #1 Alpha Kitten (9-5) won a graded event when last seen in Jan ’09. Sadler a profitable 17% with this type of returnee. #5 Heartless Vixen (5-2) captured both starts last year. Late running threat under Espinoza.
Santa Anita Race 8 (Mcl-32k, 3yo, 6f) #7 Edenise (6-1) had a troubled beginning in local bow. Barn 21% with 2nd timers, and better is possible (blinkers on). #1 Kim’s Leading Man (3-1) looms an inside pace factor for 26% Sutherland/Abrams team.
