Santa Anita Pick 6 – Feb 26th
Friday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park includes three turf races. Both grass races on Thursday were nabbed in wire job fashion, and with the rails at 30 feet, it could be deja vu all over again. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with a high temperature of 73. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.
Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Friday pick six from Santa Anita rates a 5.
Possible Singles: Lullabytime (3rd race), On The Verge (5th race)
Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Friday, February 26, 2010
Santa Anita Race 3 (Clm-32k, f&m 4up, 8T) #4 Lullabytime (8-5) has been earning decent speed ratings against better synthetic foes. Scored on turf before and figures on or near an expected tepid early pace. Single on both tickets.
Santa Anita Race 4 (MSW, 3yo, 6.5f) #5 Sand Seas (3-1) finished a respectable 6th of 13 in Hollywood bow. Barn 15% with 2nd timers, and Bejarano hops aboard. #3 Sirocco Strike (2-1) blew the break from intimidating rail in local bow. Adds lasix and could show more with alert beginning. #6 Fly Boy (7-2) sports a pair of gate bullets for debut.
Santa Anita Race 5 (Clm-50k, 4up, 8T) #2 On The Verge (9-2) got no pace help in an off the turf affair last time. Drops back in for a tag, handles turf, and Gomez strings along. Honest pace expected. #4 Pleasure To Ride (3-1) drops in class and stretches back out. His early-pressing speed should play well with rail at 30 feet.
Santa Anita Race 6 (Alw-1x, 4up, 8.5f) #3 Never (4-1) finished a solid 3rd as the beaten fav at ten furlongs last time. Gomez sticks with versatile sort, and this distance is a better fit. #8 Total Bull (5-2) fired in all three sprints. Looms a prominent throughout threat for 19% first route barn.
Santa Anita Race 7 (Clm-32k, 4yo, 8T) #3 Lamm (3-1) dons the hood and is back in a route 2nd off the shelf. Gomez/Mitchell 2 for 3 together recently. #4 Temerity (5-2) brings sharp synthetic form to the table. Major early-pressing threat with the rail at 30 feet. 6th in lone turf outing. #6 My Man Sumo (8-1) handles turf and owns running style versatility. Could surprise under Chantal Sutherland.
Santa Anita Race 8 (Mcl-25k, 4up, 7f) #4 Quick J Finlay (4-1) earned vastly improved pace figs last time. Barn 24% 2nd off the shelf, and he’s the target. #3 Who’s Your Widady (3-1) experienced a troubled beginning in long ago turf sprint bow. Dons the hood and drops for solid connections. #8 Renzo Sean (5-2) added blinkers and finished a willing 3rd last time. Bejarano sticks 3rd off the shelf.
