Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Friday, January 1, 2010

Santa Anita Race 5 (Mcl-32k, 3yo fil, 5.5f) #5 Donia (5-2) is a $145k purchase debuting for the 42% Garcia/Baffert team. #10 Searfavoritesecret (3-1) flashed early foot in $62.5k bow across town. Pace factor under Atkinson. #12 Range of Motion (9-2) is working well for bow and has the girl power team of Chantal Sutherland and Kristin Mulhall.

Santa Anita Race 6 (Clm-25k, 4yo, 8.5f) #1 Ringolevio (8-1) is in fine form for 38% Talamo/Zucker team. Like his running style versatility, and with some speed signed up, look for him to rally in this spot. #4 Joe Carl (5-2) needed last show finish at 7.5f. capable router projects stalking trip. #6 Green Card James (3-1) is rounding back to form after finishing in front of Joe Carl last time.

Santa Anita Race 7 (MSW, 3yo fil, 8T) #8 Smoothe As Candy (3-1) owns an ascending speed fig pattern and might get brave if able to shake loose early in turf bow and 2nd route start. Gomez hops aboard. #9 Empire Spring (5-2) was a solid 3rd on synthetic off the shelf last time. Returns to turf and could show more for Rosario/Clement.

Santa Anita Race 8 (Clm-20k, 4yo fil, 6f) #9 Good Night Gyrene (8-1) drops back in for a tag off the shelf and can compete if able to run back to sharp debut maiden win. #8 Silent Stalk (5-2) has fired in all six synthetic starts. #2 Bubbley Blonde (4-1) is up the ladder after two straight sharp tallies. Early-pressing threat.

Santa Anita Race 9 (Sensational Star Hcp, CA-bred 4up, 6.5T) #7 Shadow of Illinois (7-2) has won three in a row, and the razor sharp 10yo gelding is a 5-time hillside winner. #5 Enriched (5-1) enters in decent form for O’Neill, and the stalking type won a downhill event on Nov 1st. #6 Compari (3-1) goes for four-bagger, and he’s 2 for 2 on turf.

Santa Anita Race 10 (Mcl-32k, 3yo, 5.5f) #2 Surefire (4-1) was 8th of 12 from 10-hole in Hollywood bow. Barn 24% with 2nd timers. #14 Alpine Warrior (9-5) battled throughout on a strong pace off the shelf last time. Look out if he shakes loose early.
