Santa Anita Pick 6 – Jan 3rd

Sunday’s pick six from Santa Anita Park features the Grade 3 Monrovia Handicap. There is plenty of pace in the paper race, and Tuscan Evening is a logical prominent throughout player. Partly cloudy skies are expected with a high temperature of 77. My suggested tickets can be found at the bottom of this post following analysis.

Pick 6 blog has been growing in popularity on a daily basis, and I would like to thank everyone for making this site a success. I will continue to feature the Southern California Pick 6, along with select carryovers from across the country.

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Sunday pick six from Santa Anita rates a 6.5.

Possible Singles: Driveitliketiger (4th race), Rainbow Goose (5th race), Queen Ofthe Catsle (7th race)

Jarrod Horak’s Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Sunday, January 3, 2010

Santa Anita Race 4 (Mcl-32k, 3yo, 5.5f) #3 Driveitliketiger (3-1) fired prominent throughout shots in both starts versus similar. Barn a profitable 17% blinkers off. Two bullets in his holster. #2 Crafty Hedger (5-2) drops and attracts Gomez. #6 Bobby The Fat Boy (12-1) hails from a profitable 20% debut outfit, and dam has thrown a pair of winners. #8 Tuffenuftowearpink (12-1) is another out of a win early barn.

Santa Anita Race 5 (Alw-1x, 4up, 6.5T) #3 Rainbow Goose (5-2) has fired in last three turf sprints including both downhill starts. #8 Paddy’s Magic (3-1) is 2 for 2 on the weeds and shoots for his 4th straight win in this spot.

Santa Anita Race 6 (Clm-10k, f&m 4up, 7f) #10 Dine At Nine (7-2) was given a breather after flopping versus $12.5k foes on Nov 8th. Owns dangerous speed, and barn is 32% with this type of dropper. #2 No Ka Oi (5-2) switches surfaces and takes a class nose dive. She’ll be finishing.

Santa Anita Race 7 (Grade 3 Monrovia Hcp, f&m 4up, 6.5T) Plenty of early-pressing speed signed on, and I am looking for an off the pace rebound from #2 Queen Ofthe Catsle (9-2). Graded downhill winner threw in a below par effort when shipped from Philly in latest local effort versus similar. She runs well fresh and should offer a hint of value. #8 Tuscan Evening (9-5) enjoys the hillside course and cuts back after battling Ventura at a flat mile. #9 Lemon Chiffon (12-1) is a capable turf sprinter, and she could finish full of run on the cut back from numerous graded routes.

Santa Anita Race 8 (Clm-25/2L, f&m 4up, 7f) #6 Bewitched Again (8-1) is back in for a tag 2nd off the O’Neill claim, and she was a decent 3rd in 1st start versus winners. #7 Kimmyv (8-5) beat my top last time and is also for sale again. Garcia and Baffert have been on a roll together recently.

Santa Anita Race 9 (MSW, 3yo fil, 6.5T) #10 Tanda (5-1) finished a troubled 5th from inside post in off the turf bow, and place finisher returned to score. Barn a profitable 16% first turf. #5 L’Enchanteresse (4-1) fired in 5 of 6 overseas turf sprint starts. O’Neill trainee adds lasix and attracts Bejarano. #7 Pay For Play (6-1) shows a Hollywood bullet, and Rosario hops aboard the Mandella firster.
