Jarrod Horak’s Oak Tree @ Santa Anita Pick 6 analysis – Saturday, October 17, 2009
Santa Anita Race 4 (MSW, 2yo, 6.5T) #5 Via Verde (8-5) has landed the place in both synthetic sprints, and dam has tossed four turf winners. #8 Royal Import (4-1) disappointed in turf route bow at Del Mar. Dam has thrown six turf winners, and he deserves another chance.
Santa Anita Race 5 (Mcl-25k, f&m 3up, 5.5f) #5 Belated Bid (8-5) drops from MSW ranks for Baffert and meets a below par group for the level. #7 Kahlua Mist (6-1) is out of a profitable debut maiden claiming barn, and her work on Oct 2nd looks solid.
Santa Anita Race 6 (Alw-1x, f&m 3up, 6.5T) #3 Pursuit of Glory (9-2) was 3rd of 16 in a group one last year. #4 Rose Diamond (4-1) shows up in the Biancone barn, and he’s 30% with horses shipping to the US. #9 Once Upon A Grace (3-1) ran well in both Del Mar turf sprint starts. Bullet work for this.
Santa Anita Race 7 (Clm-10k, 3up, 5.5f) #7 Anzisong (6-1) graduated off a similar long layoff at this course/distance. #5 Oscar The Mayor (5-2) earned best last race speed rating at Fairplex, and his last win was over synthetic in ’07. #3 Owners Manual (2-1) finished 3rd versus better $25k foes off a long layoff last time.
Santa Anita Race 8 (Grade 3 Senator Ken Maddy, f&m 3up, 6.5T) #2 Gotta Have Her (3-1) exits graded turf route score and is 3 for 3 down the dip. #6 Queenof The Catsle (9-2) won this last year and has been part of exacta in 11 of 12 turf outings.
Santa Anita Race 9 (Mcl-25k, f&m 3up, 5.5f) #5 Kelleys Kitchen (7-2) goes 3rd off the shelf and ran well 2nd time out on synthetic last year. #9 A Clever Ten (3-1) split a 10-horse field in her bow, and barn is 23% with 2nd timers.
