Santa Anita Recap – Feb 20th
Cactus Flag ($6) got up by a neck in the Saturday opener for Espinoza/Sadler.
Autocue ($6) was up by a head in the 2nd for Bejarano/Hess.
Ida of March ($11.80) rallied for the win in the 3rd for Michael Baze and Ron Ellis.
Forthreeforeuclid ($9.20) gave Bejarano a riding double in the 4th. Doug O’Neill was the winning conditioner.
Ran 1-2 in the opening leg of the pick six with Face And An Ace ($11.20) necking Fandino. Hat trick for Bejarano, and Paco Gonzalez was the winning trainer.
Two straight after Costanta ($4.60) scored a popular tally in the 6th. Rosario guided home the Sadler trainee.
Four-bagger for Bejarano, and I’m still in the hunt after Makit Till Midnite ($6.80) went all the way for trainer Tim Yakteen.
Went three deep in the China Doll, but no dice as City To City ($24.20) upset the applecart under Rosario. Jerry Hollendorfer was the winning conditioner.
Took half of the San Carlos six pack, but wire job returnee Bob Black Jack ($10.20) jumped up and bit me. Ventana held the place over Supreme Summit, and the latter has gotten no pace help at the current stand. Flores rode the winner for James Kasparoff.
I knew Joy Scott and Ol’dogtown ($12.60) would win one of these maiden claimers at some point, and they bested me by a head today. Richard Bellasis was the winning trainer.
