Santa Anita Recap – Feb 4th

Bad Boy ($6) rallied to nab the Thursday extended sprint opener for Flores/Canani.

Cozi Rosie ($5.40) rallied from off the pace and looked good doing it in her 1st start versus winners. Mike Smith booted home the Sadler trainee, and she might shoot for the Santa Anita Oaks next.

Downhill sprint to begin the pick six, and my top High Note scratched. That left me with Princess Suances ($6), and she sat the right stalking trip for Gomez/Vienna.

Gilligan ($4.20) necked my value top Frank And The Goat in the 4th. Nice ride by Talamo aboard the Mel Stute trainee.

No dice in the 5th as I was 3-4 behind Sarabella Mia ($8) and Hostile Reaction. My top Secret Oath rallied for the show and was not helped by a :24.02 opening quarter.

Warren’s Jitterbug ($4.40) had a bad case of seconditis, but not today as the Jorge Gutierrez trainee graduated under Bejarano in 9th career start.

I loved Snowmaster ($11.80) in the feature, and he made my day a profitable one with a sharp late running tally under Bejarano. Graham Motion saddled the winner. The longer the better for this one.

Upset in the finale as Jorge Gutierrez firster Warrens Bigthunder ($48.20) scored under Amador. Only got a pair home today with a 2nd and two 3rds.
