Opening race on Friday went to 2-1 fav Runfortherosesdan (Quinonez/Peter Miller). The winner made his presence felt throughout.

Back to back early-pressing winners as Summer Games ($9.40) necked Win for M’Lou in the 2nd. Michael Baze booted home the Caesar Dominguez trainee.

13th running of the Blue Norther was not easy for heavy fav In The Slips ($2.80), but she managed a grinding head winner over Jet Blue Girl. Garrett Gomez rode the winner for Jeff Mullins.

Devil Cat M D ($4.80) was the popular winner of the 4th for Rosario/Walsh.

Pick 6 began with the 5th, and longhots dominated with Tiz Folly ($29.40) getting the job done under Michael Baze. Danny Velazquez saddled the winner.

Joe Carl could not hang on for me in the 6th. Another upset as Pinstripe Kid ($19.40) got up to win by a 1/2 length for Espinoza/DeLeon.

Now this was an upset! My top Smoothe As Candy missed by a head to Bonita Sonador ($119.80). Paul Atkinson booted home the Robert Lucas runner. That sealed a carryover for sure!

My three contenders flopped in the 8th. Life By R R ($17.60) scored under Michael Baze, and Doug O’Neill was the winning conditioner.

Avoided a shutout with Compari ($4.60) in the 14th running of the Sensational Star Handicap. 10yo overachiever Shadow of Illinois finished 6th and last. Gomez rode the winner for Marty Jones.

Top two ran 1-2 as I finish with a bang. Alpine Warrior ($5.20) held off Surefire by a 1/2 length. Pedroza booted home the Kitchingman trainee.

Got 2 out of 6 with a pair of 2nds. Pick 6 carryover of more than $115k.
