Friday Santa Anita Park Recap – Feb 4
Edge to early-pressing types on both surfaces with stalkers performing especially well.
Riding double for Corey Nakatani.
On the ticket front I tabbed four Primary (Tiz Argent, Top Debutante, Havens Lake, Regally Ready) winners for the second straight day. I finished 2-3 in the two races I missed in the sequence.

Twirling Candy looks tough to beat in Saturday's Grade 2 Strub - photo by Eclipse Sportswire
Saturday’s pick six from Santa Anita includes four grass races and features a pair of Graded events. First up is the Grade 3 Thunder Road (8th race) and Colgan’s Chip might get brave if able to shake loose early. Victor’s Cry is the logical late threat. Twirling Candy looks like single material in the Grade 2 Strub (9th race). Sunny skies are expected with a high temperature of 75.
Degree of Difficulty: Competitive. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Saturday pick six from Santa Anita Park rates a 7.
Possible Singles: Twirling Candy (9th race)
